Dance into the Light ( English for "to dance in the light" or "dance in the light") is the sixth studio album by British singer Phil Collins . It was released in October 1996 and reached number one in the German charts and in Switzerland and number 4 in Great Britain.
background
After Both Sides failed to meet expectations in terms of sales, Collins released an upbeat dance album for the first time since No Jacket Required in 1985. With The Times They Are a-Changin ' a cover of was Bob Dylan included.
criticism
- The website Allmusic wrote: “The remainder of the album is pleasant, but offers no distinctive melodies, which means that the albums sounds fine while it's on, but leaves nothing behind once it's finished.” (“The aftertaste of the album is satisfactory, offers but no elaborate melodies, which means that the album sounds good while it's playing, but leaves nothing behind when it's over. ”) The album got 2.5 stars out of five.
- Entertainment Weekly awarded the rating C +.
