Danger Bay - Adventure in Vancouver (original title: Danger Bay ; also: Cap Danger ) is a Canadian television series, which is set in Vancouver , British Columbia . It was produced by Téléfilm Canada between 1984 and 1990 in a co-production between the Canadian CBC and the US Disney Channel .

The marine biologist Dr. Grant "Doc" Roberts is a single father of two and works as the senior veterinarian at the Vancouver Aquarium .
As a committed environmentalist , he regularly deals with polluters and poachers in the “Deep Cove” nature reserve in the North Vancouver district that he oversees. He is supported by his girlfriend, the bush pilot Joyce Carter, who also looks after his children, his colleague, the biologist Dr. George Dunbar and Dr. Donna Chen, JL Duval and his son Jonah and daughter Nicole.

The first synchronization was commissioned by ARD in Munich; it includes 26 episodes from the first and second season. The second synchronization of the entire television series was created in 1991 by Metropolitan Enterprises, Berlin , for Tele 5 .

The television series was broadcast from October 7, 1985 to March 5, 1990 on the Canadian television station CBC . In US television, Danger Bay was broadcast on the English-language Disney Channel until 1996 .
From September 9, 1987, 26 episodes of the youth series were broadcast in Germany in the early evening program of Das Erste , West German advertising television, under the title Danger Bay - Adventure in Vancouver . A repetition took place at the turning point in 1991 on the first channel of the German television broadcasting company (DFF1).
All 123 episodes of the six-season series were shown from 1992 under their original title Danger Bay on the German private broadcaster Tele 5 in a new synchronization and in parts repeated on kabel eins in 1995 and on the regional broadcaster TV Berlin in 2000 .
Since 2018, 101 episodes of the first five seasons have been available on the streaming media provider YouTube on the "Encore +" channel of the Canada Media Fund .
Awards
Between 1986 and 1990, Danger Bay was nominated 15 times in different categories for the Gemini Award , in 1987 and 1989 for the CableACE Award and in 1988 and 1989 three times for the Young Artist Award . Christopher Crabb won the 1989 award in the category “Best Young Actor in a Cable Family Series” (German: “Best Young Actor in a Cable Family Series”).
The episode "The Whale Baby" (season 1, episode 13) was nominated for the Canadian film award "Nellie" of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), the forerunner of the Gemini Award and today's Canadian Screen Award .
Others
In 2015, the actors Ocean Hellman and Christopher Crabb reunited with their series father, character actor Donnelly Rhodes, who died in 2018, at the Canadian branch of the CBS entertainment magazine Entertainment Tonight.
