Conduct on the pitch

Several times King was noticed on the pitch for his quick-tempered and at times aggressive behavior. For example, in 2014 at the Charlottesville Men's Pro Challenger, after a lost point against Edward Corrie , he threw his bat into a tarpaulin, from which it hit the linesman, who fell to the ground from the blow. He was disqualified for this action. A year later at a future tournament in Calabasas in a match with Frances Tiafoe , King marched after what, in his opinion, was a wrong referee decision from the field, so he gave up.
