David Hohmann

David Hohmann (* 1976 in Hamburg ) is a German set designer . He studied stage design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Professor Raimund Bauer . He passed his diploma examination with distinction. From 2005 he established himself as a freelance set designer at home and abroad. He worked at Theater Bochum, Theater Bremen, State Theater Hanover and for the Ruhrtriennale and designed sets for directors such as Alexander Riemenschneider, Bernadette Sonnenbichler , Philipp Himmelmann , Roland Schwab , Boris Nikitin and Frank Behnke .

David Hohmann lives with his family in Hamburg.

Awards

  • In 2013 David Hohmann was awarded the “ Rolf Mares Prize ” in the “Outstanding Stage Design” category for the production “The company thanks” .
  • In 2016 he was nominated for the theater prize “ Der Faust ” for his stage design of “Outside in front of the door” at the Münster Theater . Directed by Bernadette Sonnenbichler.
  • 2019 “Weltanbauer Award” for the production “ Katja Kubanova ” at the Opéra national de Lorraine , directed by Philipp Himmelmann .
