David Schuller (born September 6, 1980 in Kapfenberg ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player who played for the clubs Kapfenberger SV , EC KAC , Vienna Capitals and HC Innsbruck in the Austrian ice hockey league and was three times Austrian champion with the KAC . He also played for the national team several times and was promoted to the top division with the Austrians in 2006 and 2010 .
Career
Schuller began his career in the junior teams in Kapfenberg and, after winning the second-rate national league with Kapfenberger SV in 1999, played in the club 's first-class team in the Austrian ice hockey league until 2002, before joining the playoffs of the 2001/02 season EC KAC was committed and then stayed with this club.
His greatest success was probably in the last game of the 2003/04 final series, when he scored the decisive winning goal against EC VSV after 5 minutes and 13 seconds in overtime and made the EC KAC champions. In the 2006/07 season he moved to the Vienna Capitals , but returned to Klagenfurt the following season, where he played until 2015. In 2008 he was nominated for the KELLY'S All-Star-Game . From the 2008/09 season he formed a line of attack together with the twin brothers Stefan and Manuel Geier .
After the 2014/15 season he did not get a new contract with KAC and decided to move to HC Innsbruck . After the following season 2015/16 Schuller announced his career.
International
Schuller took part in the U18-C European Championships in 1997 and 1998 and the U20-C World Championships in 1999 and 2000 with the Austrian youth .
He made his debut in the men's national team on April 13, 2002 in Rosenheim in the 1: 4 defeat against Germany . He represented his home country at the World Championships in the top division in 2005 , 2009 and 2013 . In 2006 and 2010 he played in Division I, where he was promoted to the top division. He also played for Austria in the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Winter Games .

Private
In addition to his professional career, Schuller is studying German at the University of Klagenfurt . In November 2011 Schuller was awarded the Carinthian Poetry Prize.
In the summer of 2012, Schuller hit the headlines when he was drunk and had a physical argument with a security guard and police officer at the Beach Volleyball Grand Slam in Klagenfurt, in which his brother was also involved. He had to answer for attempted bodily harm, bodily harm, damage to property and attempted resistance against state authority, confessed extensively and was sentenced to a fine of 14,400 euros.
