Manuel Geier began his career in the youth teams of the former national league team EV Zeltweg and made his debut in the 2003/04 season in the combat team. A year later he already had a regular place in the squad. During the season, the Bundesliga club EC KAC became aware of him and his twin brother Stefan and signed the two players.

For the 2007/08 season, the brothers were awarded to the Swedish third division club IFK Arboga IK , where the two completed the full season and finished with good statistics. In the summer of 2008 the brothers returned to the EC KAC and together with David Schuller as the center they formed a quick and playfully good line of attack. This season, the team succeeded in winning the championship title due to the great depth of the squad . After two runner-up championships in 2011 and 2012, Geier won the Austrian championship title again with the Klagenfurt team in 2013. He was able to increase his score every season. While he had achieved 25 points in 2013/14, there were already 35 points in 2014/15 and 58 as Alternate Captain in 2015/16.

He started the 2016/17 season as team captain of the KAC, but was knocked down by defender David Makowski in the first game against Fehérvár AV19 and his shoulder injured, which is why he is expected to be out for several weeks.

International

In the junior division, Geier took part with the Austrian selection in the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2005 and 2006 and in the U20 World Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 .

Geier made his debut in the men's national team on November 5, 2009 in the 2-4 defeat in the friendly against Belarus in Babrujsk . In 2012 and 2014 , the striker took part in the Division I World Championships with the team from the Alpine region. In both tournaments the promotion to the top division succeeded. In 2015 he played for the first time in the top division with the Alpenländers, but had to accept the immediate relegation, so that he played again in Division I in 2016 .
