Manuel Ganahl (born July 12, 1990 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the EC KAC in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since 2019 .
Career
Manuel Ganahl won the National League title with Dornbirn in 2008 and moved to Graz in 2009, where he played alternately in the EBEL and with the farm team in the Slohokej League and the Oberliga until 2011 . After winning the league in 2011, he moved to a permanent position in the 99ers' fighting team. During his season in Graz he made more than 300 appearances and was the club's second best goalscorer in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
In March 2015 he switched to league competitor EC KAC and achieved 48 scorer points in 61 appearances in his first season. In the main round of the 2016/17 season, Ganahl scored 16 goals and 33 assists, making him the second best scorer of the KAC behind Jamie Lundmark . In February 2017, the KAC announced that it would extend Manuel Ganahl's contract until the end of the 2018/19 season.
On April 12th, 2018 it was announced that Ganahl will move to the Finnish Liiga to the Pelicans Lahti . However, he has undertaken to play for the EC KAC again if he is again involved in the EBEL.
International
In the junior division, Ganahl took part in the U18 World Championship 2008 in Division I with the Austrian youth .
In the Austrian national team he made his debut in the 7-0 defeat against Germany on March 31, 2011 in Rosenheim . However, he did not get his first World Cup participation until 2015 , when he and his team were relegated from the top division. He then played in Division I in 2016 and 2017. He also represented the Alpine country in the Olympic qualification for the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang .
