Lukas Haudum (born May 21, 1997 in Linz ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the EC KAC in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since 2019 .
Career
Haudum comes from the offspring of the EHC Linz and made his debut in the Austrian ice hockey league in January 2014 . At the CHL Import Draft 2014 he was drawn by the Mississauga Steelheads in the second round as the 73rd player. Nevertheless, he did not move to North America for the 2014/15 season, but moved to Sweden, where he was active in the youth team of Södertälje SK , including the J20 SuperElit .
In 2016 he moved within Sweden from Södertälje to the Malmö Redhawks , for whom he made his debut in the Svenska Hockeyligan during the 2016/17 season, in addition to appearances in the J20 SuperElit . In March 2017, his junior contract was converted into a professional contract.
In April 2018, his return to EHC Linz was announced. In May 2018, however, he used his release clause to continue to accrue for the Swedish second division club IK Pantern . For the 2019/20 season he switched to EC KAC .
National team
In the junior division, Haudum played for Austria at the U18 World Championships in 2014 and 2015 , where he was voted the best player in his team, and the U20 World Championships in 2015 , 2016 and 2017 , when he was again voted the best player in his team, in each case in the Division I.
Haudum made his debut in the Austrian senior team in the 4-0 defeat in the friendly against Hungary on April 15, 2016 in Budapest . In 2016, Haudum took part with the national team for the first time in the Division I World Cup, which also played in 2017 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
