history
In the 13th century the four Archipresbyteral districts of the Diocese of Regensburg were divided into deaneries. Each dean's office was headed by a dean elected by the pastors of the dean's office. The Deanery Cham is one of the oldest deaneries, which was founded in the 13th century. Initially, the deaneries were named after the seat of the respective dean. The names of the deaneries were not fixed until April 7, 1736. On February 1, 1996 the two deaneries Cham and Waldmünchen existed with the following parishes:
