Demitrius Irving Tolentino Omphroy (born May 30, 1989 in Alameda , California , USA ) is a former Panamanian - Filipino football player on the position of a striker , defender and midfielder . The son of a German Panamanian and a Filipina spent his youth and adult careers in the United States, Portugal, Canada and the Philippines and played on an international level for various US junior national teams, as well as for the U-21 national team of Panama and the A. National team of the Philippines .

Demitrius Omphroy was born on May 30, 1989 as the son of the Panamanian Ric Omphroy of German origin, his father was Panamanian and his mother German, and the Filipina Beverly Tolentino in the Californian coastal city of Alameda. During his time at the Portuguese Football Academy, the young talent was initially diagnosed with visual disturbances and a feeling of numbness in the foot, followed by acute neck pain, which nullified a previously promised professional contract with the first division club . Instead, he was sent back to his homeland, where he was to be placed under medical treatment. In the same year, Omphroy, who had already played in various US junior national teams, finally began studying at the University of California, Berkeley, and appeared on the men's soccer team for the sports department there, the California Golden Bears .

However, he had to look back on a weak freshman year when he did not play a single time from the start in a total of 13 appearances and only had two assists by the end of the game year, albeit with two game-winning goals.
