Dennis van de Laar

Dennis Alphons Ronald van de Laar (born February 3, 1994 in Haarlem ) is a Dutch automobile racing driver . He started in the European Formula 3 championship in 2013 and 2014 .
He is a son of racing driver Ronald van de Laar .
Career
Unlike most motorsport enthusiasts , van de Laar has no experience in karting . In 2010 van de Laar competed in the touring car racing series Suzuki Swift Cup and was there third place straight away. After working in the Dutch winter long distance series, van de Laar made his first experiences in formula racing in 2011 . He started for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Northern European Formula Renault . He regularly scored points and was seventh in the drivers' championship with a sixth place as the best result. In addition, he took part in two races in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and also made two guest starts in this series. After the season he started in the winter series of the British Formula Renault . In addition, van de Laar was also active in touring car / GT racing . Together with his father Ronald van de Laar he started at an event of the FIA GT3 European Championship . In addition, together with his father, he won the diesel championship title of the Dutch Race Driver Organization .
In 2012 van der Laar competed for Van Amersfoort Racing in the German Formula 3 Cup . With a third place as the best result, he finished the season in ninth place. He also made three guest starts in the Formula 3 Euro Series . He also took part in two races of the Dutch Race Driver Organization in touring car racing . In 2013 , van der Laar stayed with Van Amersfoort Racing and started in the European Formula 3 championship . He was 20th in the drivers' championship. In addition, he and his father took part in the Daytona 24-hour race in the GT class. At the beginning of 2014 van de Laar started in the Florida Winter Series . A win was his best result. He then contested the 2014 European Formula 3 championship for the Prema Powerteam . While his teammate Esteban Ocon won the championship and his three teammates were all on the podium at least once, a fifth place was van de Laar's best result. He improved to 14th place in the overall ranking.
