Denys Jurijowytsch Pojazyka (also Denys Poyatsika; Ukrainian Денис Юрійович Пояцика ; born April 29, 1985 in Kremenchuk ) is a Ukrainian amateur boxer .

career

Pojazyka's first international championships were the 2006 European championships in Plovdiv , where he surprisingly became European heavyweight champion (-91 kg). He won four of five fights early, including against the 2005 World Cup runner-up Elvin Alisade from Azerbaijan and in the final against the top favorite Roman Romantschuk . At the World Championships the following year, however, he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Alisade. The 2008 European Championships in Liverpool ended for him in the quarter-finals, so that he qualifies for the Olympic Games finally missed.

In 2009 and 2010 Pojazyka lost to Oleksandr Ussyk at the national championships . Nevertheless, he was nominated for the European Championships in Moscow in 2010 and won the bronze medal. 2011 Pojazyka rose to the super heavyweight (+91 kg), but could not prevail on the national level. In 2012 he was again Ukrainian heavyweight champion and at the 2013 European Championships in Minsk . he took third place behind Məhəmmədrəsul Məcidov , Azerbaijan , and Sergei Kuzmin , Russia .

World Series of Boxing

In the 2010/2011 season Pojazyka started for Baku Fire in the World Series of Boxing . In the regular season he won two out of four fights. He lost u. a. v Abdelhafid Benchabla , Algeria . Furthermore, he was used in the first semi-final match against Paris United, but lost as the only representative of Baku his fight.

In the 2011/2012 season Pojazyka from Baku was only used in the knockout round. In the comparison match against the Mumbai Fighters he won his fight, but lost in the against Milano Thunder.

In the 2012/2013 season Pojazyka played three fights for the Ukrainian Otamans and won two. In the match against Italia Thunder he lost to Imre Szellő .
