The false Mexican (French: Alerte aux Pieds-Bleus ) is an album from the Lucky Luke comic series . It was drawn and written by Morris and first appeared in 1956.

Lucky Luke tries to arrest a Mexican cardsharp named Pedro Cucaracha . But the latter can flee and ends up in the area of ​​the Blue-footed Indians. Raids, arson and tunnel construction fail, and starvation of the population does not work either, as Lucky Luke drives a herd of bison into the city. An attack by three allied Indian tribes is pushed back by the cavalry, and Pedro Cucaracha can also be arrested. The sheriff recognizes in him the wanted gringo horseshoe Harry .

In 1965 it was published in German in Lupo modern , in 1970 in the Fix and Foxi Extra paperback series , in 1974/75 it was printed in the Zack magazine and in 1987 the album was published by Ehapa (volume 51).

The story was filmed in 1991 for the Lucky Luke animated series.
