from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My uncles, the Daltons (French original title: Les Tontons Dalton ) is a Lucky Luke album penned by the French draftsman Achdé . The story, first published in 2015, was written by Laurent Gerra and Jacques Pessis . The German edition was published as Volume 93 of the series by Ehapa-Verlag .

Throughout history, the Daltons have been more or less successful as educators. The volume is a parody of the gangster film Mein Unkel, der Gangster (French original title: Les Tontons flingueurs ).

action

Emmett Dalton (the real one!) Is said to have had a romance that resulted in a son. The mother, who is now a star, wants to place him in the care of the young Dalton brothers. Lucky Luke is anything but enthusiastic when the prison director with whom they are imprisoned tells him that they are to be released into the open prison system and that he should be there as a guardian.

Joe Dalton, the head of the gang, thinks the dismissal is fantastic, but the fact that Avarell is named “Junior” 's godfather makes him mad. After all, he's the godfather !

The next morning they are picked up by Mr. Blanchini, the mother's notary, and Junior. On the way, Junior clearly shows that he is a Dalton: Without attracting much attention, he robbed the train. At the same time, Blanchini reveals to Luke that he has a considerable amount of money available for raising the boy. From now on Joe wants to get this money under the nail.

When they arrive at the destination of their journey, in Highso City, panic breaks out at the sight of the Daltons and the travelers only escape a bullet if they are lucky. The young Dalton is also quickly the target of hostility from his comrades at school - only because of his name. He also receives a donkey hat as a "reward" on the first day . The tutoring that the Daltons - barely able to read - give Junior, are hardly suitable to get him on the right track. There is further trouble in the village when the "cuddly dog" Rantanplan lets go of a ham. Now both parents and children are upset against Junior. Luke is about to give up.

Blanchini has an idea: He lets Ma Dalton come - the only one who has the Daltons under control. To smooth things over, she wants to organize a birthday party. Since Ma's words also leave an impression on the teacher, the whole village comes to the festival, and it seems as if the little one can leave his bad reputation (and that of his name) behind.

But when everyone has gone home, Junior is missing: he was kidnapped to extort a ransom. When Lucky Luke has already cleared up the situation with the help of Jolly Jumper, the Daltons appear and want to run away with the ransom - and of course first kill Luke. This time, however, that is prevented by Junior, who has noticed how much Luke has helped and how much he likes going to school. He is eventually honored as top of his class, while the Daltons are distrusted and sent back to prison.

Remarks

The volume is an allusion to the Franco-German gangster comedy Mein Unkel, der Gangster . Various characters in the volume are caricatures of the actors appearing there, such as Bernard Blier and Jean Lefebvre as kidnappers and schnapps distiller Raoul & Paolo or Robert Dalban as butlers. There are also caricatures of other people in the volume, for example by Dominique Strauss-Kahn on page 17 when leaving a hotel accompanied by two women and by Marc Veyrat as a stressed cook on the last page.
