The Green Bird is a German feature film from 1980.
action
The film tells a love story during the Cold War that takes place between East and West. Dr. Renate Winter is a German cancer researcher . At a medical congress in Vienna she meets the Polish cancer researcher Dr. Jan Widuchowski. They fall in love, but there is no future for the couple. They meet regularly over the next ten years, but Jan will not part with his wife. Your love life only takes place on a few days at medical congresses.

The shooting of the film took place in July / August 1979 in Tübingen , Warsaw , Paris , Krakow , Berlin and Auschwitz . The film was released in German cinemas in April 1980.
