action

Professor Lance Davidson and his daughter Skye interrupt their drive to Los Angeles to visit the small town of Baxter. In the village with 84 inhabitants, a gigantic ice cream cone is a sight. At the same time, the punk Ely Jackson is arrested for blowing up parts of an investment ruin, an amusement park that was never completed. Since Ely's father is the local sheriff, she is released.

A little later a truck with a new type of lemonade concentrate had an accident on the street near the city. The substance is possibly toxic; the city is being cordoned off by the FBI . Young actress Skye Davidson, who has an important audition appointment in Los Angeles the next day, desperately tries to reach her agent by phone. She and Lance spend the night with a widow, whose husband once built the amusement park .

Skye befriends the city's youth. She learns from Blue Baxter, the son of her hostess, that Blue's father had to give up his investment when the promised water from the aqueduct near town was diverted to the lemonade factory. He found his father hanged himself in the motel and set the building on fire.

The cause of death of the driver turns out to be natural, the quarantine is lifted. Lance and Skye can go to Los Angeles, but Skye is no longer in a hurry. Ely Jackson blows up the aqueduct on the site of the unfinished amusement park, the water flows into the excavated artificial lakes.
