The DAGA (originally: Meeting of the D eutsche A rbeits g ommunity for A KUSTIK) is an annual conference on recent developments in acoustics . The annual conference usually takes place in the second half of March and is organized by the German Society for Acoustics (DEGA) in cooperation with the German Physical Society (DPG), the Information Technology Society (ITG) in the VDE and the NALS in DIN and VDI .

The first conferences took place in 1970 and 1972 and were officially called "Joint Conference Acoustics and Vibration Technology". They were organized by the German Working Group for Acoustics , an association of the DPG , the NTG in the VDE and the VDI . Since 1973 the event has been officially referred to as the “Conference of the German Working Group for Acoustics” (DAGA conference). This name has been retained to this day, although the working group was merged into DEGA at the 1990 conference. The conference proceedings have been published since 1973 under the title “Acoustics Progress”.
