Germany - your starlets, that is the lurid story of ambitious film starlets in the Federal Republic of Germany's cinemas, who use all means to climb the success and career ladder, and of a yellow press journal that picks up on every “sensatiönchen” to a fat one Produce headline.
The protagonists include an established actress named Ellen Dorn, who has long since seen her greatest successes behind her, her colleague Helga Werbach, whose career is on the rise, and, third, Renate Bard, another young mime who has benefited from Ellen's decline are threatened. While Ellen panics because she has lost a hoped-for role, the sensational reporter Klamm joins in and causes Helga's accidental death through his persistence, who has seriously hoped for this role. When the role is finally to go to Renate as part of a talent search, she resolves to put an end to Klamm's machinations. But with her courageous actions Renate threatens to ruin her own career, because the power of the sensational press is much greater than she had believed ...
