Dewitz is a district of the municipality of Lindetal in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
geography
The place is eleven kilometers southeast of Neubrandenburg . The Dewitz district has an area of 1016 hectares. The neighboring towns are Sponholz in the north, Pragsdorf , Marienhof , Cölpin and Neu Käblich in the northeast, Alt Käblich in the east, Leppin and Rosenhagen in the southeast, Teschendorf in the south, Sabel in the southwest, Quastenberger Siedlung in the west and Kreuzbruchhof in the northwest.
history
Dewitz - an anger village - was a knight's seat. 1304 knight Anselm Jentzkowe was mentioned in Dewitz. The von Gentzkow family owned the estate with few interruptions until 1822; after that it was state domain . Two round medieval towers have been preserved. The church was built around 1290.
