Leppin is a district of the municipality of Lindetal in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
geography
The place is 14 kilometers southeast of Neubrandenburg . The Leppin district has an area of 1219 hectares. The neighboring towns are Cölpin in the north, Neu Käbelich in the northeast, Alt Käbelich in the east, Petersdorf and Plath in the southeast, Köllershof in the south, Ballin and Rosenhagen in the southwest and Dewitz and Marienhof in the northwest.
history
Leppin was first mentioned in 1298 (place of Lepa = beautiful). Parts of the place belonged to the Wanzka monastery and the sovereign. The property was u. a. owned by the von Genzkow (17th century) and Oertzen (noble family) families (1705–1927). The manor house was built after 1755. Conversions and wing constructions were made around 1850 according to plans by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel in Tudor style. From 1952 to 1990 it was a vocational school and boarding school, today (2015) an office and residential building. The church dates from around 1300 and was renovated after the great fire in the village in 1775. The tower was built in 1843 according to plans by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel.

Personalities
- Jasper von Oertzen (1801–1874), Minister of State (Prime Minister) of Mecklenburg-Schwerin from 1858 to 1869 , acquired Leppin in 1836 and was buried here
