Diamonds & Rust is a 1975 music album by folk singer Joan Baez , who is known for playing works by other songwriters and performers very often. Cover versions by Bob Dylan , Stevie Wonder , The Allman Brothers and Jackson Browne, along with a number of original Baez compositions, have also been released on Diamonds & Rust . This is also the case with the title song Diamonds & Rust , an original composition by Bob Dylan.
The title track was covered by the British heavy metal band Judas Priest on their 1977 album Sin After Sin and has been an integral part of their concerts ever since. The American folk duo The Smith Sisters released the song on their album Mockingbird in 1986 . The Anglo-American Renaissance - rock band Blackmore's Night coverte the song in 2003 on their album Ghost of a Rose , as well as the Finnish power metal band Thunderstone on her published in 2004 album The Burning .
With her cover of Dylan's Simple Twist of Fate , Joan Baez attempts a cheerful personal interpretation of the songwriter's work. An alternative recording of Dida appeared on last year's album Gracias A la Vida . In the duet with Joni Mitchell the tempo of the song was increased.
