action

The banker and portfolio manager Oliver lives only for his job. In order to meet an appointment, he drives past a traffic jam on a country road at excessive speed and thus causes a serious traffic accident. The resulting paraplegia caused him to sit in a wheelchair and spend his days in a rehab clinic . Here he meets Laura, who looks after a disabled shared apartment. In search of WiFi , Oliver ends up in this flat share called “Die Goldfische”. It consists of the blind Magda, the two autistic Rainman and Michi and Franzi, who has Down syndrome .

He learns that the tax authorities in Switzerland are checking lockers for black money and, as a victim, makes a plan to keep his money safe. Oliver donates camel therapy to the flat share in Switzerland. Meanwhile, he secretly drives to Zurich with the carer Eddy to pick up his black money from the bank. According to Oliver's plan, the money is to be smuggled across the border on the group's bus, as it does not arouse suspicion. By chance, Laura finds out about the plan and forces Oliver to bring the money back.

Back in Zurich, Laura is separated from the group, and Oliver first gets Rainman and then Magda to drive the bus across the border. Oliver stuffs his black money under Michi's clothes. Laura joins the group again at the border, but Michi has now disappeared. The shared apartment discovers him in an amusement park, where he is getting into a bungee ball . When he is thrown up, he loses the black money attached to him, which is now distributed over the entire area of the park and is collected by visitors.

Back at the rehabilitation clinic, the head Ingeborg Zschetzsche instigates the group to travel to Luxembourg as a professional smuggling gang in order to transport black money from business people across the border in exchange for donations for the clinic.

Reviews

“The sometimes funny, sometimes silly disabled comedy doesn't want to abuse its characters for jokes, but still makes occasional slip-ups. The imbalance in the figure drawing fits the heterogeneity of the cinematic style, which unrelatedly connects the most diverse elements and aesthetics. "

“At first the concept works. As long as Die Goldfische doesn't care about political correctness , the punch lines are right . Kida Khodr Ramadan ( 4 blocks ) and Birgit Minichmayr ( all others ) are in top form. Too early, however, the tragic comedy falls into classic patterns, becomes moral and begins to repeat itself. In the end there is nothing more than a solid, but ultimately formulaic number revue in the guise of a road movie . "

“In the end, despite the stuttering start with a bumpy introduction to the figures and a lot of lengths, the positive aspects still prevail. Because once the goldfish hit beautiful Zurich and the Swiss border region, there are not only a number of great gags, but also the necessary portion of heart at the right moments - without the love story between Oliver and Laura, which was hinted at at an early age, becoming too dominant and thus diverts the focus away from the inspiring quartet of disabled people.
