Dieter-Julius Cronenberg

Dieter-Julius Cronenberg (born February 8, 1930 in Neheim ; † November 21, 2013 ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ). From 1984 to 1994 he was Vice President of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1951, Cronenberg began studying law and political science in Lausanne , Aix-en-Provence and Münster , which he completed in 1955 with the first state examination in law. During his studies he became a member of the Catholic student association V.KDSt. Saxonia Münster in the CV , was involved in the student representation and was involved in the development of the Honnef model as 2nd chairman of the Association of German Student Unions (VDS) in 1954/55 .

After graduating, he worked as a volunteer in various companies and since 1960 has been co-owner of the Julius Cronenberg oH company in Müschede , which has been family-owned for almost 300 years.

Cronenberg was married and had three children. His son Carl-Julius Cronenberg was elected as a member of the Bundestag on September 24, 2017 .

Political party

In 1961 Cronenberg joined the FDP and was local and district chairman, from 1969 to 1974 deputy district chairman, then district chairman.

MP

From 1976 to 1994 Cronenberg was a member of the German Bundestag . Here he was primarily involved in the field of social policy and was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group from 1979 to 1985 and head of the parliamentary group working group on labor and social policy . In December 1984 he was elected as the successor to Richard Wurbs as Vice President of the German Bundestag and remained so for over ten years until he left the Bundestag in 1994.

From 1995 to 2000 he was Vice President of the Association of Former Members of the German Bundestag and the European Parliament.
