Dietersdorf is a district of the town of Schönsee in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .

Geographical location

Dietersdorf is located in the valley of the Ascha about 3 km northeast of Schönsee on the slopes of the 730 m high Steinbühl, the 726 m high Lindau mountain and the 744 m high Gradlhöhe. It is a typical Waldhufendorf , whose houses are about 1.5 km long along the state road 2159 , on the northwest side of the road up the mountain slopes, on the southeast side of the road down into the valley of the Ascha. To the southeast, the “angle” bulges out, which developed together with the paper mills and loops .

history

Dietersdorf is mentioned for the first time in 1333 in the deed of sale with which the Bohemian lords of Hostau sold Reichenstein Castle with Dietersdorf and Schönsee to the Bavarian Landgraves von Leuchtenberg . On May 29, 1350, the two Landgraves of Leuchtenberg transferred their property to Charles IV and got it back from his hands as the “ Fief of the Crown of Bohemia ”. It was not until 1805 with the Treaty of Pressburg that Dietersdorf became Bavarian again. There was a paper mill in Dietersdorf since the 17th century. In the 19th century it was converted into a glass loop, which was closed at the beginning of the 20th century. On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Dietersdorf was incorporated into the town of Schönsee.

Culture and sights

The Maria vom Siege church, built in 1890, is located in Dietersdorf . A hiking trail to Friedrichshäng runs over Gradlhöhe.
