Lambayeque Cathedral

The Lambayeque District is located in the province of Lambayeque the Lambayeque region in northwest Peru . The district founded on February 12, 1821 has an area of ​​332.73 km². At the 2017 census there were 71,425 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 45,090, in 2007 63,386. The district administration is located in the provincial capital Lambayeque .

Geographical location

The Lambayeque District is located in the south of the Lambayeque Province. It has an approximately 20 km long stretch of coast on the Pacific coast . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the vicinity of the city of Lambayeque. Otherwise there is desert vegetation.
