The Naván District is located in the Oyón Province in the Lima Region in western Peru . The district was established on March 27, 1953. It has an area of ​​231 km². At the 2017 census, there were 855 residents in the district. In 1993 the population was 886, in 2007 it was 1074. The district administration is located in the 3100  m high village of Naván with 285 inhabitants (as of 2017). Naván is located in a small northern side valley of the Río Huaura about 32 km west-southwest of the provincial capital Oyón .

Geographical location

The Naván district is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the west of the Oyón province. The district is located on the right bank of the Río Huaura, which flows to the southwest . Its right tributary, the Río Yarucaya, flows in sections along the western district boundary.

The Navan district is bordered to the west by the district Cochamarca , on the north by the district Ámbar ( huaura province ), on the east by the district Caujul and on the southeast by the district Paccho (province Huaura).
