The Pachangara district is located in the Oyón province of the Lima region in western Peru . The district was established on January 28, 1863. It has an area of ​​255 km². At the 2017 census, there were 2526 inhabitants in the district. In 1993 the population was 3249, in 2007 it was 3321. The district administration is located in the 2265  m high village of Churín with 1834 inhabitants (as of 2017). Churín is located on the Río Huaura almost 20 km southwest of the provincial capital Oyón .

Geographical location

The Pachangara District is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the east-south of the Oyón Province. The Río Huaura flows along the western district border to the south, its left tributary Río Checras flows along the southeast and southwest district border to the west.

The Pachangara district borders in the southeast on the Santa Leonor district ( Huaura province ), in the southwest on the Checras district (also in the Huaura province), in the west on the Andajes district and in the north and northeast on the Oyón district .
