The district of San Pedro de Lloc is located in the province of Pacasmayo in the La Libertad region in northwestern Peru . It has an area of 698.42 km². The 2017 census counted 17,637 residents. In 1993 the population was 15,381, in 2007 16,149. The administrative seat is the provincial capital San Pedro de Lloc .
Geographical location
The district of San Pedro de Lloc extends over the south of the province of Pacasmayo. It has an approximately 26 km long coastline along the Pacific coast . It extends up to 40 km inland. In the far east, the foothills of the Peruvian Western Cordillera rise up to 2200 m . desert vegetation prevails in much of the district, especially in the south. Irrigated agriculture is only practiced in the northwest in the vicinity of the city of San Pedro de Lloc.
The district of San Pedro de Lloc borders in the north on the districts of Pacasmayo , San José and Yonán (the latter in the province of Contumazá ). In the extreme east the district borders on the Cupisnique district (also in the Contumazá province), in the southeast on the Casa Grande district and in the south on the Rázuri district (both in the Ascope province ).
