Femdom (BDSM)
A woman who offers sadistic and / or dominant practices for a fee is referred to as a dominatrix or dominatrix (en.) . According to the Prostitution Act , the activity of dominatrixes is considered sex work because, although they usually do not practice sexual intercourse with their customers, they do offer a sexual service.
The term domina (Latin "mistress of the house", from Latin domus = house) was originally the Roman name for a lady of the house or the head of a monastery or monastery. A well-known dominatrix in the 19th century was the British Theresa Berkley , who runs a brothel in Soho .
Definition of terms
In the non-commercial BDSM subculture, the term domina is not used to describe a dominant woman (see Femdom ). A woman in a corresponding role is referred to here as a mistress, casually also as a domse or domme .
Dominatrix
Sometimes commercially active Dominas prefix their names with titles such as Herrin , Madame , Mistress , Goddess or titles of nobility such as Lady . Some of the prefixed terms used also relate directly to specially offered services such as KV mistress , Findom (derived from financial domination), online mistress or governess . Her clients include both men and, to a lesser extent, women. As a rule, dominatrixes are self-employed sex workers; not all have a personal connection to the BDSM scene or a sexually sadistic or dominant preference.
Sado / Dominus
Sado (derived from the word sadism ) is the only term in the commercial BDSM scene next to master or master that denotes the male counterpart of a dominatrix. “Dominus” is more of a term created by the mass media , but is also used in English-language or historicizing erotic literature as a term for a dominant man. Most sados specialize in homosexual suitors .
Slave
Submissive and / or masochistic women for role-playing games for three or for dominant-sadistic men are active in the same commercial environment and are referred to as slave or maid . They often work together with dominatrixes in SM studios.
working area
Domina studios usually have interior furnishings geared towards the client, in which they can implement their fantasies, and are either independent facilities or attached to brothels . In addition to so-called dungeons , dungeon-like rooms with stretchers, cages , pulleys , slings and St. Andrew's crosses , rooms for clinic sex are also widespread. In these rooms, among other things, medically oriented role plays take place in which, for example, dilators , cannulas , gynecology chairs and enemas are used.
In addition to these often very elaborately designed rooms, there are mainly sadomasochistic accessories and sex toys available. In addition to whips , penis cages , whips , clamps and dildos, there are items of clothing for role-playing games such as uniforms, masks, latex and leather clothing and utensils for feminization . There are also dominatrixes who work in the classic escort service and visit their customers at home or in hotel rooms.
In the course of the development of the Internet , other forms of commercial dominance have developed, in particular the so-called online education , in which chat- or mail-based role-playing games are agreed between the dominatrix and the customer. Another predominantly online variant is financial dominance, in which the client draws his satisfaction from the fact that he instructs the dominatrix money, vouchers or gifts. This variant can also go hand in hand with blackmailing (extortion), in which the customer provides the dominatrix with pictures or corresponding information and can thus be blackmailed.
