There he received his doctorate in 2002 with a thesis on the philosopher Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy .

Fields of work

In his scientific contributions, Klenk primarily deals with the modern dialogue philosophy. In addition to Rosenstock-Huessy's works, those of Martin Buber are also objects of his research. As a member of the Martin Buber Society, he reviews recent philosophical literature and publishes essays on various topics in the journal Im Dialog . In March 2011, he conducted an interview with the philosopher Robert Spaemann for the weekly newspaper Die Zeit .

Dominik Klenk is the initiator of the marriage and family alliance , which 35 companies, clubs and associations from Germany have joined, including the non-denominational YMCA , the Catholic Schoenstatt Movement and the independent German Parents' Association .

Klenk works as a coach for team processes and community building. In 2003 he founded the TGG (Meeting of Spiritual Communities) in the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) together with Roland Werner and the Protestant Bishop Christian Zippert .

Dominik Klenk researched and reflected on the psychohistory of communities and group processes.

He co-designed the young entrepreneur forums 20x09 and 20x10.

Klenk advocates the basic thesis that people in their basic attitude are receivers. Relationships in teams and groups can only grow and prosper if they receive and pass on love .

Dominik Klenk is the initiator, architect and co-author of the Evangelical Youth Catechism YOUBE. The aim of the catechism is to impart the basics of the Christian faith to the younger generation. The book is accompanied by a cross-media concept to support communities and young people in their educational and missionary work with YOUBE via social networks and digital work templates.

Positions

Klenk advocates ecumenism, the man-woman family and a right to therapy for "homosexuals willing to change".

Klenk represents traditional values and ways of life. In his writings and lectures he takes a stand against the leveling of gender differences. In what is known as gender politics , he sees a silent revolution against the "creation-related" differences between men and women. For homosexual people who want to change their sexual orientation, Klenk demands the “right to therapeutic accompaniment”. As one of the salient differences between male homosexual and heterosexual partnerships, Klenk sees, based on studies he interprets, sex with changing partners outside of the fixed relationship. The reform of pastoral service law with an official opening for same-sex civil partnerships in office, is a kindling in and dismantling of the rectory; Same-sex partnerships would turn it into a "house of bliss".

Klenk is committed to ecumenism . He lectures and publishes on numerous Protestant and Catholic forums. The Catholic philosopher Robert Spaemann calls this approach the attempt at another ecumenism: Not the ecumenism of the lowest common denominator or the intersection of denominational beliefs and the dropping of the rest as a private matter.
