Dominik Schmid (born September 7, 1989 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian handball player .
Career
Schmid has played for Alpla HC Hard since his youth , for whom he played in the Handball League Austria until 2014 and with the 1.90 meter backcourt player in 2011/12 , 2012/13 and 2013/14 the Austrian championship and 2013/14 won the national cup. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the German Bundesliga promoted SG BBM Bietigheim . A season later he went into the second class with the SG BBM. Even before the end of the contract, which ran until 2017, Schmid terminated the contract in Bietigheim in December 2015 and returned to Hard , where he signed a contract until 2018. In 2016/17 the right-hander again secured the Austrian championship title with the Alpla HC Hard. In 2017/18 Schmid was able to celebrate the Cup victory with the Vorarlbergers, and after this season he was named "Handball Player of the Year".
Dominik Schmid is a member of the Austrian national team , for which he has scored 70 goals in 53 international matches so far .
