Vytautas Žiūra (* 11. May 1979 in Vilnius ) is a from Lithuania originating handball player with Austrian citizenship.
Career
The 1.88 m tall and 93 kg heavy backcourt player was under contract with the Danish club Viborg HK in the 2009/10 season . Then Žiūra returned to the Austrian handball club Fivers Margareten , for which he was active before his station in Viborg. With the Handball Club Fivers Margareten he won in 2009 , 2012 , 2013 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 the ÖHB Cup and 2011 , 2016 and 2018 the Austrian Championship . Furthermore, Žiūra played for the Lithuanian clubs Lūšis-Akademikas Kaunas and Granitas Kaunas, with whom he celebrated a total of two championships and three cup successes.
In Austria he has already been voted “Player of the Year” seven times (most recently in 2016/17). He has been a player-coach at Union Leoben since the 2020/21 season .
For the Austrian national team , he scored 200 goals in 94 international matches.
He is married to the Austrian handball player Gorica Aćimović (* 1985).
