Dominik Starkl (born November 6, 1993 in Krems an der Donau ) is an Austrian football player . The striker plays for the Austrian Bundesliga club FC Admira Wacker Mödling .

Career

Starkl began his career at Kremser SC in Lower Austria . In 2006 he switched to the youth department of SC Getzersdorf for one season before he was accepted into the St. Pölten football academy. He stayed there for four years until he was signed by the Austrian record champions SK Rapid Wien .

In his first season he was appointed to the squad of Rapids second team. Starkl made his debut under coach Zoran Barisic on August 9, 2011 in the game against SC Neusiedl am See . He played from the start and was replaced in the 77th minute for Daniel Randak. The game was won 2-1. In total, the striker made 25 more appearances this season and scored eight goals.

In 2012/13 he was brought to the first team of SK Rapid Wien . Coach Peter Schöttel changed Starkl on November 3, 2012 in the game against SK Sturm Graz in the 57th minute for Muhammed Ildiz . His debut in the top Austrian league was lost 1: 2 in the Graz UPC Arena , with Starkl preparing for the 1: 2 through Guido Burgstaller ten minutes after being substituted on .

During the summer break of 2015, Starkl switched to FC Admira Wacker Mödling on loan for a year . Admira had a purchase option, which it also drew in April 2016.

The striker played internationally for the Austrian U-18s and U-19s. In the U-21, Starkl has made five appearances and scored in the friendly against Turkey to make it 2-0.
