Domonic Jones (born August 26, 1981 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American basketball player who, after studying at his place of birth, played as a professional in the German basketball league from 2004 to 2010 . Most recently he played in the 2011/12 season in the second German ProA division with the former first division club from Karlsruhe .

Career

During his studies at Virginia Commonwealth University , Jones was a member of the Rams , which play as a college team in the Colonial Athletic Association of the NCAA Division I. He is one of the five best points collectors of all time on this team and was named best player at this NCAA conference in his senior year.

After graduation he signed in 2004 a professional contract in Baden Karlsruhe and played there until the descent of the BG Karlsruhe from the BBL 2007. Subsequently, a season was Braunschweig at the Phantoms active before by Baden-Wuerttemberg returned and two seasons in Württemberg Ludwigsburg in Stuttgart active was. In 2010 his contract was not renewed. Tyron-Clement McCoy , also a graduate of the VCU and a successful player in the Rams, had switched from Ludwigsburg to the Dragons in Artland as assistant coach and acted as a replacement for Bryan Bailey, who was injured at the beginning of the season . After nine games Jones was allowed to leave the team and in February 2011 he signed a contract in Verviers, Belgium . There he played until the end of the season. After initially not finding a new club for the 2011/2012 season, Jones joined his former club BG Karlsruhe in the second-rate ProA in November 2011 . In 2012 Jones married and decided not to return to Germany for the 2012/13 season.
