Donín (German Dönis ) is a district of the city of Hrádek nad Nisou in the Czech Republic . It is located one kilometer southeast of Hrádek nad Nisou and belongs to the Okres Liberec .
geography
Donín extends on the left bank of the Lusatian Neisse . It lies on the edge of the Zittau basin, to the south lies the ridge of the Lausitz Mountains . The Sedlecký Špičák ( Lindeberg , 544 m), Ovčí Kopec ( Schafberg , 263 m), Písečný vrch (316 m) and Nad Vodárnou ( Giebelsberg , 358 m) rise above the village from west to east .
Neighboring towns are Grabštejn and Chotyně in the east, Hamr, Dolní Suchá and Horní Sedlo in the south, Dolní Sedlo in the south-west, Loučná in the west and Hrádek nad Nisou in the north-west.
history
The place belonging to the Grafenstein lordship was first mentioned in writing in 1454 and was dominated by agriculture until the 19th century. In 1830 the place consisted of 98 houses and had 608 inhabitants.
After the abolition of patrimonial Dönis formed a political municipality in the judicial district of Kratzau and Reichenberg district from 1850 . In 1869, 858 people lived in Dönis. With the emergence of industrial companies in and around Grottau , Dönis grew into a suburb of Grottau. In 1900 the community already had 2076 inhabitants. In 1901 the rubber fabric factory was founded by Krackow & Eiffert. The popular Hahnbergbaude restaurant was built at the northern foot of the Lindeberg. In 1930, 2131 people lived in Dönis, including the Feldhäuser district. After the Munich Agreement , the community was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Reichenberg district until 1945 . In 1939 the community had 1945 inhabitants. After the end of World War II, Donín came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled by 1946 . In 1950 Donín only had 960 inhabitants and was incorporated into Hrádek nad Nisou. The Střelnice ( Hahnbergbaude ) was demolished in the 1950s. In 1970 the population of Donín was 1250, in 1991 there were only 991. The Oder-Neisse cycle path runs through the village . 25 houses in the village are used for recreational purposes. In 2001 the village consisted of 285 houses in which 1009 people lived.
