history

The Spittelgrund settlement was established in the corridors of the Spittel- Vorwerk belonging to the St. Jacob Hospital in Zittau . After the Thirty Years' War the village belonged to the Grafenstein lordship . In 1830 the place consisted of 55 houses and had 422 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Spittelgrund formed from 1850 a political municipality in the district authority Deutsch Gabel / Německé Jablonné. In 1869 490 people lived in Spittelgrund. In 1900 the community already had 530 inhabitants. The popular Hahnbergbaude restaurant was built to the west of Spittelgrund at the northern foot of the Lindeberg. In 1930 there were 566 people in Spittelgrund, 702 including the Paß district. After the Munich Agreement , the community was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Deutsch Gabel district until 1939 and then to the Reichenberg district until 1945 . In 1939 the municipality of Spittelgrund had 603 residents with a passport. After the end of the Second World War, Spittelgrund came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled by 1946 . In 1947 the village was given the new name Dolní Sedlo , at the same time the district Sedlo was renamed Horní Sedlo .

In 1950 Dolní Sedlo only had 241 inhabitants. The Střelnice (Hahnbergbaude) was demolished in the 1950s. The municipality belonged to the Okres Liberec-okolí until 1960. This was dissolved in 1961 and Horní Sedlo was incorporated into Hrádek nad Nisou on January 1, 1961. In 1991 the place had 161 inhabitants.
