The village stream is about two kilometers long right tributary of Nußbaches in Rhineland-Palatinate Kusel district in the area of the municipality Lauterecken-Wolfenstein belonging municipality Nußbach .

geography

course

The Dorfbach rises in the natural area of the Lichtenberg ridges of the North Palatinate Uplands at an altitude of 371  m above sea level. NHN in a forest on the western slope of the Anzentaler Huebels ( 409.5  m ) just under one and a half kilometers north of the village of Nussbach.

The stream initially flows southwards along the wooded western slope of the Anzentaler Huebels . It then squeezes through a narrow valley between the Erlenberg ( 399.3  m ) in the west and the Mittelberg ( 358.9  m ) in the east, accompanied by thick wood in the Nussbäch corridor . In the Schleifmühlengraben corridor , it is then fed on the left by the Kreuzbach coming from the northeast .

The village stream runs further by strong growth of bushes and trees accompanied now südsüdwestwärts between fields of the corridor Höhläcker on his right side and the green land of the corridor Next meadows on the left. It then passes a small pond near the Biengarten corridor , then reaches the northern edge of the local community of Nussbach and disappears there north of the Bachstrasse piped underground.

It reappears on the surface south of state road 386 and immediately flows into the Nussbach , approaching from the southeast, at a height of 230  m on the southern edge of the village .

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Dorfbach lies in the natural area of the Lichtenberg ridge of the North Palatinate Uplands within the boundaries of the local community of Nussbach and has a size of 3.5 km².

The area of the Dorfbach lies in the Rotliegend of the Permocarbon in the Lower Glan subgroup . The sediment layers consist of alternating layers of predominantly gray and sometimes red clay , silt and sandstone . Tuff , limestone and coal also occur occasionally .

The highest elevation of the catchment area is the Roßberg in the north with a height of 447.2  m . Other notable hills are the Anzentaler Hübel ( 409.5  m ), the Erlenberg ( 399.3  m ), the Borbacherschlag ( 394.3  m ), the Wolfbacher Berg ( 383.6  m ), the Flettersberg ( 365.8  m ) , as well as the Mittelberg ( 364.7  m ).

The catchment area of the Dorfbach is bounded in the west by the Nussbach and in the northwest by the Odenbach tributary Becherbach . In the north it touches the field of Glan inflow Reiffelbach , east of the village stream competes with the Moschel and southwest with the Nußbachzufluss Please Bacher ditch .

Forest predominates in the stream valleys and on the mountain slopes, otherwise sandy - loamy fields and meadows. The entire catchment area of the Dorfbach, with the exception of the confluence area with the local community of Nussbach, is uninhabited.

Tributaries

nature and environment

The valley of the Dorfbach belongs to the biotope complex worthy of protection with lean grassland, forest and flowing water along the Dorfbach, N Nussbach (area number: BK-6312-0019-2009). The biotope is 33.98 hectares in total.

The Dorfbachtal is of local importance because of its high number of species and structures and is a valuable spring stream biotope, especially for species that visit flowers and those that love warmth. The pronounced poor meadows in the transition to areas with semi-arid grass on the slopes of the valley are representative.

The village stream is a near-natural forest stream, fringed by alders and ash trees . A smaller part of its course leads through canyon forest . On its slopes, in the area of a former game park , there are poor meadows rich in species and flowers, with partly dry grassland, bushes and wooded fields.

Its edges have been extensively reforested. To the east of the brook there is a secondary, up to 5 m high, south-facing silicate rock wall with species-rich vegetation. Above it is a warm oak forest.
