The Becherbach is a two and a half kilometers long orographically right tributary of the Odenbach in the Rhineland-Palatinate districts of Bad Kreuznach and Kusel .

The Becherbach rises in the natural area of Moschelhöhen of the North Palatinate mountainous region at an altitude of 296  m above sea level. NHN at the southern foot of the Hasenenberg the southern spur of the sparrow ( 380.9  m ) directly west of the local sports field and north of the state road 385 . Its source lies in a grove at the southwest corner of the district of Bad Kreuznach and municipality Meisenheim belonging to the same local church .

The stream meanders in a strip of wood in a westerly direction and is accompanied by the L 385 . At the Wooswiesen corridor , the stream then crosses under the country road and flows in a slight curve south of it through a narrow and wooded valley between the Horn ( 351.8  m ) the south-western spur of the Sparrow in the north and the 419.8  m high Sohlberg in the south . Shortly afterwards it is fed in the corridor Am Gürtel on its right side by the salt lick Graben coming from the Hallerwald . The Becherbach then passes north of the Teufelsaltar hill ( 340.3  m ) the district boundary and enters the area of ​​the local community of Ginsweiler , which is part of the Kusel district and the Lauterecken-Wolfstein community .

It now runs along the northern edge of the parish forest and the southern slope of the 341.4  m high Kohlberg and reaches the townscape of the village of Ginsweiler at a mourning hall . Shortly afterwards it crosses the L 385 ( Becherbacher Straße ), then crosses the L 382 and finally flows west of Ginsweiler near a transmission mast at a height of about 177  m from the right into the Odenbach coming from the south .

The Becherbach drains over the Odenbach , the Glan , the Nahe and the Rhine into the North Sea . The difference in altitude from its source to its mouth is 119 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of about 48 ‰ over a run length of about 2.5 km.

Broken willows , ash trees , black alders, and field and sycamore maples stand along the stream . At the bottom of the herb layer , the glandular balsam , the great nettle , the wood twig , the common worm fern and the wood ziest develop .

To the north of the headwaters on the slopes of the Hasenberg there is a meadow orchard . There are pear , walnut , apple and plum trees and down to the floor where it grows the meadow milfoil , the White bedstraw , which Cocksfoot and oat grass .

A little further west at the south-southeastern foot of the Horn there is a level tree hedge with pedunculate oaks and field maples, as well as hazelnut and hawthorn bushes, and ball grass grows on the ground.

At the southwest foot of the horn is a bach accompanying oak-hornbeam forest , where sessile oak , hornbeam , common maple and Speier warmers and sweet cherry trees are. In the shrub layer comes hawthorn , serviceberry , the privet and the Creeping Rose before. At the bottom in the herb layer, the black pea , the smelly hellebore , the sage gamander , the grove-panicle and the single-flowered pearl grass as well as the peach- leaved bellflower and the nettle-leaved bellflower unfold .

On the southern slope of the Kohlberg there is an approximately 6.9 hectare rose-hawthorn bush with sloes , pedunculate oaks, field maples, privet , clematis , sweet cherry, wild pear and service tree as well as blue-red dogwood , single-winged hawthorn , dog rose and blackberry bushes . On the ground, thrives the Middle Klee , the Common Dost , the field scabious , the Dürr Wurz , the Small hawkweed , the wild strawberry , the cypress spurge , the Great globe thistle , the Upright Brome , the Brachypodium pinnatum , the Ordinary oat grass, the vineyard leeks and Small Odermennig .

In the middle of the western area of ​​the bush complex is a 0.7 hectare flowering fat meadow with small, species-rich and shallow, poor areas. In this area grows fence Wicke , the dandelion , the grains saxifrage , the small burnet , the sorrel , the bulbous buttercup , the Middle plantain that Restharrow that field scabious, the wild carrot , the Pyrenees pantograph which Cocksfoot, the chicory , the vineyard leeks , the Kleine Odermennig, the meadow yarrow, the white rennet and spring fingerwort as well as the smooth, golden, horn , white and meadow clover .
