description

The late Gothic hall church was built in 1521. It has a drawn-in yoke with a polygonal end in the northeast, above which the choir tower rises. The rectangular nave in its current shape was minted in 1734, the choir area was preserved from the late Gothic complex. The church tower received a new slate-covered top made of a bulbous dome , an open lantern and a tower ball .

The interior was redesigned in baroque style. The nave is covered with a slate pitched roof. There are single-storey galleries under the flat ceiling of the nave . The choir is spanned with a groin vault. The pulpit from the 17th century, restored around 1870, therefore shows forms of the Renaissance . Carved statues of Petrus , Paulus and Magdalena by Hans Gottwalt, a student of Tilman Riemenschneider , have been preserved from a winged altar from around 1515 . A relief with the Lamentation of Christ does not come from the same altar. The organ with 11 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1872 by Friedrich Wilhelm Holland.

The church was repaired in 1850 and 1870 and last renovated in 1987.
