Lichtentanne is a district of Probstzella in schiefergebirge , Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia . The place is in the Thuringian Slate Mountains .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document on February 6, 1337.

The late Gothic hall church was built in 1521, its present shape it received in 1734.

The Herrenhof Castle is located in the middle of the village . The ground monument is a remnant of a medieval castle complex, remnants of the fortification moat with rampart are still preserved.

In Lichtentanne, the sawmill on the river Sormitz is still in operation.
