history
The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on April 2, 1363. In the 12th century the Slavs began clearing the forest . Lasan (Laz = clearing of undeveloped fields) in Slavic. In the Middle Ages there was a small manor. In 1363 a Heintze von Lasan appears as a councilor in Saalfeld . In 1373 the village is subject to interest to the provost of Zella . The manor was later owned by a Mr. Holbach, who sold it to Messrs. Lengefeld in 1489. At that time, the villagers were subject to the lords, interest and compulsory payment, as well as being subject to the courts. In 1747 the Schwarzburg rulers took over the estate and dissolved it ten years later. The manor house , the noble farm of the Lengefeld family, was a listed building , but had to be demolished in 1958 because it was dilapidated. Until 1918 Laasen was in the Leutenberg area of the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
In 1791 the still standing church was built. In 1863 there were seven whole and two semi-farm estates. In 1990 the Beulwitz cooperation managed the land. Of the 70 inhabitants, most of the able-bodied people worked in agriculture.
Lohmendorf desert
The village of "Lohmendorf" was built around the same time as Laasen. Today it is located in the north-eastern corridor of the Laasen district, about two kilometers west of Eichicht in the corridor Auf dem Lohmen . When deep plowing, brick plastering and 110 pieces of late medieval ceramics were observed from 1985 onwards. The settlement, which was already mentioned in a document in 1533, was located on a connecting path from the Saale valley to the Loquitztal. According to the explorers, the settlement was created when mining began. In the 16th century, 21 of the 38 parcels were cultivated by Fischersdorfer farmers , where the parish church of the settlement also stood.
