Kleinneundorf is a district of Probstzella in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

geography

Kleinneundorf is located east of the Loquitztal on a west-sloping high plateau of the south- east Thuringian slate mountains . The connection to the federal highway 85 can be reached via the downward sloping state road 2376 . The local road from Kleinneundorf is one of the steepest roads in Thuringia. The pond of the village lying steeply on the mountain is in the center of the village.

history

On April 28, 1324 " Nuwen dorfchene " was first mentioned in a document. In 1414 the new village belonged to the county of Orlamünde-Lauenstein , and it was also Zinsdorf of the Benedictine Abbey of Saalfeld in the area of the Zella Provostry . Later the place belonged to the district of Graefenthal . In 1858 there were 15 houses with 125 inhabitants in 22 families, most of whom worked in agriculture. Because of the extreme slope, livestock farming had priority. Slate mining was also carried out.

Because of the location of the place near the inner German border , several forced resettlements were carried out during the times of the GDR dictatorship . 1957 the place was incorporated into Probstzella.
