Wickendorf is a hamlet of Probstzella in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

location

Wickendorf is east of the road from Großgeschwenda to Lichtentanne in the basin of the Schafbach, which flows down to Sormitz, at an altitude of 570 meters above sea level. The corridor of the hamlet is 225.06 hectares.

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on March 19, 1454. In 1417 there were several farmsteads in the hamlet, then a farm was created from the farmsteads , which was divided up again in 1780. There was then a sheep farm with around 700 sheep. There were four apartment buildings and 26 residents. Like Roda, the place was in the Leutenberg area of the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt until 1918 .

On April 6, 1994 the community Roda, which Wickendorf belonged, was incorporated into Probstzella.
