history
Wolfgang Kahl proves March 17, 1370 as the first documentary mention of the place, the community goes from 1417. At that time the place was a Schwarzburg village with the name Arembach. In 1493 the spelling was Arnßbach. The place belonged to the Grafschaft Schwarzburg-Leutenberg and after its extinction from 1564 to 1918 to the supremacy of the Grafschaft or the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
In 1858 there were seven houses with a property; The corridor comprised 130.1 hectares. The miners shared this area with the estate and operated arable farming as a sideline. After 1900 three slate mining pits were opened. In 1885 the station opened in Unterloquitz. That is why the roofing slate production came near the train station in Arnsbach. The slate pits Glückauf-Brand, Glückauf-Heimann and the Mühlenbruch were planned for various underground relocations in 1944/45. Ultimately, BASF began to relocate by-products from the fuel industry under the code name Steinbock II. After the end of the war, the VEB Thuringian Slate Mines Unterloquitz developed. After the reunification, the company was taken over by the Dutch KOOP Holding, which soon went bankrupt. The current owner is the Link group of companies from Stuttgart. Arnsbach became a district of the municipality Unterloquitz on July 1, 1950 and with this in 1994 it was reclassified to Probstzella.
