In the 16th century the hamlet would have fallen into desolation due to the plague or the influence of war . Survivors from Zadelsdorf and Erkmannsdorf repopulated the hamlet and founded a forge. The famous iron from Königsthal was in demand. 800 quintals were produced, then the owner let the forge go into disrepair. The inhabitants lived on agriculture, mining and in the forest. Picking pine cones was a specialty of the citizens. The seed became a commercial object. In 1925 the place was electrified. On April 1, 1959, Pippelsdorf was incorporated. Both hamlets were jointly connected to Marktgölitz in 1994. The hamlets have belonged to Probstzella since 2004.
