Dorn-Assenheim is a district of Reichelsheim in the Wetteraukreis in Hesse . Dorn-Assenheim is popularly called Schloggebach .
geography
Dorn-Assenheim is located in the Wetterau and is the southernmost district of Reichelsheim.
history
middle Ages
The oldest surviving mention of the place comes from 1237 with the name Massinheim used at the time .
Early modern age
At the end of the Holy Roman Empire , the village was a condominium . The village was one half a fief of the Abbey of Fulda to the Baron of Franckenstein to Ockstadt . The other half belonged to the Lords of Franckenstein together with the Counts of Schönborn as a fiefdom of the Hochstift Worms .
Modern times
With the Rhine Confederation Act of 1806, the village became part of the Duchy of Nassau and assigned to the Reichelsheim office. In a letter dated September 12, 1806, von Franckenstein's administrator was instructed to continue his official business, but to do so in the ducal and princely name. However, the mediatization initially took place on paper. In a letter dated October 7, 1806, the Reichelsheim Office instructed the residents to visit the Reichelsheim Office in legal matters. However, this was not implemented. In a report by the government of the Duchy of Nassau on October 17, 1809 it was stated that the previous landlords continued to exercise patrimonial jurisdiction in the first and middle instance. The sovereign and landlord rights were formally separated, but they were exercised by the landlord officials in personal union. The reason why the Duchy of Nassau could not effectively enforce its position was the location of the place: The Reichelsheim office was a Nassau exclave in the middle of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . This made it difficult to send police or the military.
With the consolidation of the political situation in Germany after the Congress of Vienna , a final settlement was reached for Dorn-Assenheim. The two landlords renounced the patrimonial jurisdiction. From January 1, 1816, Franckenstein received compensation of 200 guilders and Schönborn of 55 guilders. In addition, their court officials received 100 and 20 guilders. With this agreement, the mediatization was completed.
After the German War , Nassau was annexed by Prussia . In Art. 15 No. 3 of the peace treaty of September 3, 1866 between Prussia and the Grand Duchy of Hesse , an exchange of territory was agreed, and the Reichelsheim office - and thus Dorn-Assenheim - was added to the Grand Duchy, where it was assigned to the Friedberg district (Hesse) . The consequence of the transition to the Grand Duchy of Hesse was that a nested particular law applied: In addition to Hessian law, Nassau law, which in turn overlaid Mainz land law, and - under customary law - also Title 28 of the Solms land law (matrimonial property law), but not in full . It was not until January 1, 1900, when the Civil Code , which was uniformly valid throughout the German Reich , that the old particular law was suspended.
Dorn Assenheim was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on 1 February 1972 the municipality Beienheim , also from the old circle Friedberg, as well as the municipalities of Blofeld and Heuchelheim from the old district Büdingen , with the town Reichelsheim together .
