Dröswein is the easternmost district of Schleiz in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Geography and geology

The place is east of the city of Schleiz near the state border with Saxony a little off the federal highway 94 in the Thuringian part of the Vogtland. The area around the village is surrounded by forest. Dröswein is a street village with a corridor .

Geologically, the area is located in the southeast Thuringian slate mountains . Due to the high proportion of fine soil and the high humus content, these soils are very productive and reliable.

On August 1, 1965, Langenbuch and Dröswein merged. On March 8, 1994, both places were incorporated into the town of Schleiz.
