Langenbuch is a district of the town of Schleiz in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .
Geography and geology
The district is mostly surrounded by forest and is located in the Thuringian part of the Vogtland near the border with Saxony . In addition , the Lössau dam , which is fed by the Wisenta stream, extends into the area surrounding the area. The idyllic location can be reached via the federal highway 94 and the federal highway 282 as well as the local connection road in 1.2 or 6.6 km distance. Neighboring towns are Oberböhmsdorf , Wüstendittersdorf , Lössau , Dröswein and Thierbach in Saxony.
Geologically, the area is in the East Thuringian Slate Mountains . Due to the high proportion of fine soil and the high humus content, these soils are very productive and reliable.
history
Langenbuch was first mentioned in a document on June 6, 1377. The place belonged to the Electoral Office of Plauen until the 19th century and from 1875 to the Plauen administrative authority . In 1952 it was incorporated into the Schleiz district. Today 280 people live in the village. In 1965 Langenbuch and Dröswein merged , and in 1994 both places were incorporated into the town of Schleiz.

traffic
The Langenbuch stop is on the Schönberg – Schleiz railway line . The line is leased from DB Netz AG to Deutsche Regionalisenbahn . There is no longer any regular passenger traffic. Occasionally special trips take place here.
