Dubrau

Dubrau , Dubrawa in Lower Sorbian , is a residential area in the Koßwig district of the city of Vetschau / Spreewald in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district . The place was almost completely devastated in 1988 in favor of the Seese-Ost open-cast lignite mine , 94 residents had to be relocated. The place last belonged to the municipality of Koßwig.

The Dubrau desert is located in Niederlausitz , south of the former Seese-Ost opencast mine. Neighboring villages are Groß Lübbenau in the north, Raddusch and Göritz in the northeast, Belten in the east, Koßwig in the southeast, Kalkwitz in the south, Mlode in the southwest and Bischdorf in the west.

The district road 6628 leads through Dubrau from Vetschau to Bischdorf. The Ilse Bergbau cycle path leads through Dubrau .

The Bischdorfer See lies north of Dubrau .

history

The Dubrau estate was first mentioned in a document in 1460 and belonged to the von Köckritz family . For 1527 the place name is Dubraw and for 1591 Duberaw . In 1598 the village was sold to the von Schlieben noble family , who owned Dubrau until 1708. In 1797 the property came into the possession of the Lynar family and thus became part of the Lübbenau rule . After the Second World War, the Lynar family was expropriated. Dubrau is located in the former Lusatian lignite mining area and was devastated in 1988, except for the manor house and another residential building. The manor house underwent extensive renovation work in 1996.

After the Congress of Vienna , Dubrau came to the Kingdom of Prussia together with the whole of Lower Lusatia . On July 1, 1950, Dubrau came to the Lübben district . On July 25, 1952, Dubrau was assigned to the newly formed Calau district in the Cottbus district. On October 1, 1966, Dubrau was incorporated into the municipality of Koßwig. As part of Koßwig, ​​Dubrau belonged to the Vetschau office from July 21, 1992 to October 25, 2003 and became part of the city of Vetschau / Spreewald on October 26, 2003 .
