History of origin

In September 2007, that director and was known Oscar award winner Martin Scorsese documentation is planning on the life and artistic career of George Harrison. In December 2011, the documentary George Harrison: Living in the Material World was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Europe. The CD George Harrison: Living in the Material World is part of the Blu-ray / DVD deluxe edition of the documentary of the same name about George Harrison and is identical to the CD Early Takes Volume 1 released the following year . The available information about the individual songs of the compilation album is limited, the information given here is based solely on an interview with Giles Martin , who, according to the CD cover imprint, put this compilation together with Paul Hicks in the archives of George Harrison in Friar Park in 2009 and musically produced. The CD contains six pieces that were recorded during the rehearsals and recordings for All Things Must Pass : in addition to demo versions of My Sweet Lord , Run of the Mill , Behind That Locked Door and All Things Must Pass , these are early recordings (“early takes ”) by I'd Have You Anytime and Awaiting on You All . The Light That Has Lighted the World , which is available here as a demo, was recorded for the subsequent studio album Living in the Material World . Giles Martin said that Woman Don't You Cry for Me was one of the earliest recordings of a song from the album. This statement means that this demo was not made during the recording sessions for Thirty Three & 1/3 , which was released in 1976, but in 1970 or earlier. The Dylan composition Mama You've Been on My Mind was recorded in the 1980s by George Harrison and reworked by Giles Martin by removing several instruments from the mix . Let It Be Me (Demo) is another recording from the 1980s and another third-party composition, this track was recorded by the Everly Brothers , among others , and was a top ten hit in the USA for them in 1960.

The cover was designed by Ron Miller and David Costa, the photo by Robert Freeman . The CD version has a cardboard cover that can be opened.
